The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Just Play department assists Guadalcanal Football Association (GF) with equipment for the recent U-14 festival at DC Park yesterday and at the same deliver social awareness on healthy tips to prevent COVID-19.
GFA under the leadership of a new executive successfully held a one-day kids festival for primary schools in the west and central Guadalcanal.
Just Play complements the festival with equipment such as soccer balls, pips and drinking bottles for the kids.
Just Play Regional coordinator, Michael Bate’e said his team of volunteers had a great time with the children apart from their participation on the football pitch.

“Basically we shared some important healthy lifestyle messages to the kids as we are in a period of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
“The children participated in our activities which involve question and answers based on keeping good hygiene.
“Also we donated balls, handbags and some other customize Just Play items to all the winning teams.”
Bate’e said thanks Just Play partners the Australian Government, New Zealand Government, UEFA Foundation for Children, Football Federation Australia and UNICEF.
GFA President, Leroy Siovi was happy with the turnout and acknowledges Just Play’s assistance which makes the event a success.

“This is a success for my executive as will are looking to use this festival to select our U-14 teams for boys and girls for the upcoming championships in Honiara,” Leroy said.
“Thank you to the Just Play team who are here to assist us with this festival and I hope all the children have learned something from their awareness talks.”
The GFA president added that the festival attracted schools from Areligo in west Guadalcanal to the northeast which consist of four constituencies all together.
