The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has a rare opportunity for a media officer to join its Media and Marketing department which is in the process of being expanded.
This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring football journalist or media officer to gain valuable experience in a football environment.
The Media Officer should be a self-driven young person with proven excellent writing skills and a good command of spoken English.
The role is to provide coverage of SIFF events and competitions involves live updates on match days via social media platforms of SIFF using a range of media including video, images, and text and utilizing the latest social trends, as well as conducting interviews with the coaches and players and providing other relevant social media posts and web pieces.
The Media Officer shall be responsible for the following functions:
(I) Ensuring publicity of the federation’s activities in the footballing sense by arranging press conferences for the President/Technical team or other authorized Exco members, organizing newspaper, television, and radio interviews
(II) Managing social media platforms by generating and posting content on Facebook, Website
(III) Maintaining an archive for the Club for photographs, press clippings, television footage and other materials (IV) Manage the federation’s equipment for media usage
(V) Create and manage the federation’s newsletters/any other publications and radio show
(VI) Manage the federation’s advertising and other promotional materials
Qualification
A minimum of a degree in Media and Journalism, other social sciences, or its equivalent. Must have a minimum of 3-years of experience working at a high level in a related field.
