HFA to hold congress

The Honiara Football Association (HFA) will host its annual congress tomorrow (Thursday 6th April, 2023) at the national art gallery display room in Honiara.  

The congress will also conduct the business of the elections for the new HFA executive committee who shall manage football affairs in Honiara for the next four (4) years.  

The new executive committee will take over from the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) appointed normalizing committee which has been in place since the former committee was suspended and the association placed under administration.  

The HFA normalizing committee has published the candidates for the election as follows: 

a) Candidates for President 

  • Dekon Kuong (President Laugu FC) Nominated by Mars Utd FC and United Kwara’ae FC 
  • Glen Buka (Ordinary Member Mataks FC) Nominated by Realas FC and Mataks FC 

(b) Candidates for Vice President 

  • Henry Koto (President/VP G-Camp United) Nominated by Real Varane FC and Laugu United 
  • Redley Raramo   (President/VP FC Juniper)  Nominated by Real Burns FC and CDL Lekas FC 

(c) Candidates for Treasurer 

  • Jedidiah Fanaomea  (President/VP CDL Lekas FC)  Nominated by Laugu United and Sunrise Arrow FC 
  • Jimmy Manewai  (President/VP CDL Ma’aritawa FC)  Nominated by Sewa FC and Ma’aritawa FC 

(d) Candidates for General Secretary 

  • Glen Buka   (Ordinary Member Mataks FC)  Nominated by Mataks FC and Realas FC 
  • Richard Fugui (Treasurer/GS Real Varane FC) Nominated by FC Juniper and Naha FC 

(e) Candidates for Ordinary Members 

  • Henry Koto  (President/VP G-Camp United)  Nominated by Lauru FC and WC Tigers FC 
  • Jeffery Sipele  (President/VP Lauru FC)  Nominated by Real Varane and G-Camp Utd 
  • John Lanu (Treasurer/GS Sunrise Arrows FC)  Nominated by Waneagu Utd FC and Baelelea FC 

Registrations for the congress will commence at 9:00am in the morning and official business will follow thereafter.
