No doubt, the loss is a bitter pill to swallow, when considering the immense passion and dedication our beloved Solomon Islands football team and fans have poured into the sport. Losing in the final is always difficult to accept, but this defeat is especially hard to take considering the hard work and dedication shown by our national team before and throughout the tournament.
The dream of securing victory in football at PG 2023 on our home turf in the newly built stadium was one that resonated with every citizen of our beautiful nation. The desire for success was palpable, and our team fought courageously throughout the tournament earning a spot at the gold medal play-off.
