Laugu United drop points against a resolute Southern United as FC Juniper Tree and Central Coast FC gets respective wins in the final weekend of round one – Match Week 11.
FC Juniper Tree beat Real Kakamora adding more salt to the wound in 7-2 goal rampage in a bottom of the table clash. From straight eleven defeats only managed to find comfort with two goals in the second-half after going down 4-0 in the opening period.
Brandon Lusi opened the score 6’ minutes from kick-off before veteran James Naka adds a double and Philip Feni on target at the strike of half-time.
Kakamora made few improvements in the second spell dominating much of the possession, however, substitute Ben Gebe find an opening to put the margin further. A change of positions saw Kakamora’s center back Simon Saqi running up front to get the consolation with a brace to his name.
Making sure the lead is intact, Thompson Lidi and Ben Gege completed the task for the men in green ensuring them the three points.
Central Coast FC made a slow start to their match against a young Henderson Eels side.

Eels Junior Ani got them in front just 7’ minutes from kick-off after well buildup play that caught Coast defenders cold. Coast responded perfectly through a well-placed layoff to Hudson Oreinima to level the score not long last before Adrian Mara secured for Eel’s a lead at the break.
Coast FC came back strong in the second period pressuring the Eel’s defense and it was their target man Junior Fordney who got them the stunning 3-2 comeback to move second on the table with 22 points and a catchup match to be played against Marist FC if they can go top of the table after first round of competition.
Eels now dropped to the bottom four on 13 points.
The day’s main match saw Laugu United and Southern United battled it out in a mid-table clash. Trevor Sulia lobbed ball found the lead for Southern United in the opening 20’ minutes of play – equally contested, Laugu United picked up late to level the score at half-time with a Moffat Kilifa goal.
Southern United making use of their lethal front man John Orobulu had been menacing the Laugu United defense on several occasions. It was super substitute, Ivan Maeluma who got the winner for the Tibon Oge coached side from a dummy pass that left him unmarked and only Anthony Talo to beat between the posts.
The win lift Southern United to the 7th position with Marist FC while Laugu United are trailing 2 points behind in the opening round of the season.
