The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is seeking a qualified service provider to engage as legal counsel for 2025 and 2026.
Scope of Services
The selected legal counsel will be expected to provide, but not be limited to, the following services:
- General Legal Advice: Offering legal guidance on operational and organizational matters, including governance, contracts, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Contractual Review: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, including partnership contracts, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and funding agreements.
- Non-Profit Law: Advising on tax-exempt status, regulatory requirements for NGOs, and compliance with local, national, and international laws.
- Dispute Resolution: Assisting in the resolution of legal disputes, including mediation or litigation if necessary.
- Other Tasks: Based on situation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Interested legal counsel should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience working with non-governmental organizations or in the non-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations governing NGOs, both locally and internationally.
- Experience in contract law, dispute resolution, and compliance issues.
- Ability to provide strategic legal counsel in a clear and practical manner, tailored to the unique needs of a non-profit organization.
- Holds a current practising certificate issued by the High Court of Solomon Islands.
- Has been practising law for more than 10 years.
Submission Requirements
Interested parties are requested to submit the following documents as part of their Expression of Interest:
- A cover letter outlining the counsel’s experience, expertise, and suitability for the engagement.
- A detailed curriculum vitae (CV) or firm profile.
- A list of at least two relevant references from organizations with whom the counsel has worked in a similar capacity.
- An outline of the proposed approach to providing legal services to SIFF, including availability and communication protocols.
- A fee structure or proposed billing arrangements.

Please submit your Expression of Interest by 31st January, 2025, via email to secretariat@siff.com.sb with title EOI – Legal Counsel or by hand deliver to the SIFF office in Honiara.
Next Steps
Following the submission of EOIs, SIFF will review the applications and may invite shortlisted candidates for an interview or further discussion. The selected legal counsel will be expected to commence services upon finalizing the agreement.
