EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR ACCOUNTING SERVICES 2025

The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is seeking to engage a qualified accounting professional or firm to provide comprehensive accounting services for 2025. We invite you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to offer accounting expertise and services in line with our financial management needs for the year 2025. The scope of services includes various tasks related to maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance, and preparing necessary reports.

SIFF is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing football in Solomon Islands. As we continue to grow and manage our financial resources effectively, we require the expertise of an experienced accounting partner to assist us in maintaining transparency, accuracy, and compliance in all financial matters.

Scope of Services

The selected accounting professional or firm will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Verify and Update Opening Balances in MYOB for 2025: Review and verify the accuracy of opening balances in the MYOB accounting system for the year 2025 to ensure they are correct and complete.
  2. Process Accounting Records to MYOB: Process and record all accounting transactions into MYOB for the months of January to December for each year, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  3. Prepare Monthly Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts: Conduct monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax liabilities, and assets.
  4. Maintain Accurate Debtors, Creditors, and Fixed Assets Register: Ensure that the debtors and creditors registers are up-to-date, and accurately track and manage the fixed assets register.
  5. Prepare Monthly Adjustment Entries: Process necessary adjustment entries on a monthly basis to reflect accurate financial information, including accruals, provisions, and corrections.
  6. Prepare Quarterly Financial Reports for SIFF Executive Board: Prepare quarterly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for the SIFF Executive Board’s review.
  7. Prepare Annual Financial Statements: Prepare the organization’s annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulations.
  8. Prepare Required Tax Deduction Certificates & Employer’s Annual Summary: Annually prepare the required tax deduction certificates for staff, as well as the employer’s annual summary for submission to tax authorities.
  9. Load Budgets to MYOB: Prepare and load the approved budget into MYOB, ensuring that it reflects the organization’s financial goals and allocations for the year.
  10. Quarterly Audits of Procurements and Payments: Perform quarterly audits of procurement activities and payments to ensure compliance with internal controls and organizational policies. The findings to be presented in a report to SIFF management.

[The service provider may be required to be provide the above services using Xero accounting software.]

Required Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate or firm should meet the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounting services, specifically for non-profit organizations with at least 5-10 years of operation locally or internationally.
  • Familiarity with MYOB and Xero accounting software and its functionalities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing balance sheet accounts, financial reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Any additional certifications or qualifications, e.g., CPA, ACCA, etc. may be helpful in our final decision.

Submission Requirements

Interested parties are requested to submit the following documents as part of their Expression of Interest:

  1. A cover letter outlining your experience, qualifications, and understanding of the scope of services.
  2. A detailed curriculum vitae (CV) or firm profile.
  3. A description of your approach to providing accounting services for the scope outlined above.
  4. A list of at least two relevant references from organizations you have provided similar accounting services to.
  5. A proposal outlining your staffing allocation for this engagement.
  6. A proposed fee structure or billing arrangements.

Please submit your Expression of Interest by 31st of January, 2025 via email to secretariat@siff.com.sb or by hand delivery to the SIFF office in Honiara.

Next Steps

After reviewing the submitted EOIs, SIFF will shortlist candidates and may invite them for an interview or further discussion. The selected accounting professional or firm will be expected to begin services upon the finalization of an agreement.
