Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Referee Development Officer, Robert Sulimae successfully delivered an MA Basic Refereeing course in Temotu at Lata.
Around twenty-five (25) participants took part in the course which started on Thursday 7th and concluded on Sunday 12th July 2020.
Sulimae was overwhelmed with the turn out especially eight (8) female participants who showed passion and desire to excel in refereeing.
“We had a good number of both male and female who are aspired to become the first qualified referees for Temotu,” he said.
“Currently we don’t have qualified referees in Temotu and it is good to see these 25 are willing to fill the gap.
“The participants have displayed promising potential to become good referees and I believe that they have learned the basics to officiate a football match and applied laws of the game.”
Apart from the refereeing course, Sulimae also witnessed the Temotu Football Association (PFA), futsal leagues for both men and women and display basic futsal refereeing to the match officials of the league.
