Solomon Power

The Solomon Islands Electricity Authority, trading as Solomon Power, is a state-owned company and the sole electricity company in Solomon Islands established under the Electricity Act of 1969. It is based in Honiara but operates offices and sub-stations throughout the country.

Solomon Power is governed by a board of directors that is responsible to the Accountable Ministers, being the Responsible Minister and the Minister of Finance. The Responsible Minister is the Minister responsible for Energy, Mines and Rural Electrification.

In July 2021, Solomon Power and the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) signed a landmark agreement for the sponsorship of the Iumi Play Grassroots Football Development Programme. The one-year deal is worth SBD$1 million dollars and is earmarked for the development of grassroots football centres throughout Solomon Islands.
