The 2024/2025 seasons of the Telekom S-League have seen the addition of new club management under the Real Kakamora FC franchise.

Green Shield FC, which played in the Honiara Football League (HFA) and Iumi Cup competition, has now taken the top tier stage under the banner of Real Kakamora, following two valid seasons as stipulated by the TSL Board Management.

The former Real Kakamora management had been competing for three seasons, finishing at the bottom of the league every time but with a valid club license for another season.

To rejuvenate and contribute to the competitive league proper, Green Shield Management has taken up the leading role in the new season with an overhaul.

The former Waneagu United Head Coach, Stephen Aumanu, and national defender, Ian Lagwai, have been appointed to the leading role for the new side.

Lagwai has told TSL Media that the new look side is up for the challenge with new signings and a steady focus ahead.

“The new club is named Green Shield, under the Real Kakamora club license which is still valid.

“However, they weren’t able to continue with the management, so everything about this club is now new. The team is set to compete in the league, and most of the players included in the team are players from the previous season with clubs like Waneagu United, Central Coast FC, and KOSSA FC.

Players like, Paul Francis, Clenty Lamupio, Jefferey Bule, Hudson Felani, Philip Ropa are a few to name in a Real Kakamora outfit.

“Most of them are already experienced in the top-flight competition. Real Kakamora FC began their campaign with a narrow defeat at the hands of the defending champions Solomon Warriors on Match Day 2 of the new season.

Lagwai said that it’s a good test to start with the team, and they will learn from their mistakes and work on them.

“It’s just the beginning, and there’s a long way to go in the competition.

Real Kakamora will be a side to watch in the upcoming league fixtures as they will take on Marist FC in their second league match on Wednesday 1st May at the East End Stadium at 2:00 PM.
